If you are looking for fantastic affordable hotels in Morocco, then this is the information you are looking for! I managed to find some dreamy riads at reasonable prices! Staying at a riad is the most traditional way to vacation in Morocco. It is a Moroccan house built around a central courtyard, often with a fountain or pool. Who doesn’t love a nice pool or sleeping in an Arabian nights fairy tale decor? Here are some of my favorite stays in Morocco!
Dreamy affordable hotels in Morocco
L’Oriental Medina Riad & Spa in Marrakech
L’Oriental Medina Riad & Spa is located in the northeast of the medina of Marrakech in a tiny alley. When arriving at the riad you get an instant relaxed spa feeling, smelling the scent of orange blossoms and hearing the arab lounge music in the background. After exploring the bustling narrow streets of Marrakech packed with people, colorful stores and roaring motorcycles, it feels as if you are entering a completely different world.
The first thing you will notice is the beautiful patio with its small pool. The white and green mosaics give it a fresh clean look and the palm trees are well integrated. On the first floor you will find a cozy salon where you can drink a delicious cup of tea and at the rooftop you can relax in the sun or eat one the tasty dishes they offer.
The rooms aren’t big but spacious enough and beautifully decorated. In the evening I sat in the lounge chair to read a book on the patio. I enjoyed my stay here.
Location:
– Place des Épices: 650m / 8 min
– Jemaa el Fna: 1.1km / 13 min
– Bahia Palace: 1.5km / 19min
– Saadian Tombs: 2.1km / 27min

Riad Palais Sebban in Marrakech
Riad Palais Sebban is way bigger than L’Oriental, but still a quiet place to relax. It looks more like a palace, since it consists of various parts with their own patios. The main part has a courtyard with a gorgeous terrace and swimming pool surrounded by trees and beautiful flowers.
The ground floor houses a reception which is situated in a high gallery decorated with magnificent white carved stucco. There are also several seating areas where you can relax surrounded by fabulous mosaic tiled walls. On the rooftop you can relax in the sun and enjoy the marvelous views on Marrakech.
Since this palace consists of various riads, its rooms all have different styles and price ranges. I probably had one of the smaller rooms, but it was still big enough to be practical.
Location:
– Place des Épices: 800m / 10 min
– Jemaa el Fna: 700m / 8 min
– Bahia Palace: 2.1km / 26 min
– Saadian Tombs: 1.5km / 19 min

Riad El Amine in Fes
Riad El Amine is situated just outside the Fes medina, which makes it easy to access. It’s the first thing I mention because Fes is a total maze of almost 10 000 alleys and a disaster to navigate around. Even the locals get lost here! There is a parking lot nearby, where you can catch a taxi. But you can also easily walk to the medina.
The staff working here is extremely helpful and nice. My room (Kenza Suite) was decorated in traditional Moroccan style with mosaic tiles on the walls and floor, carvings and stained glass windows. I had a huge princess bed which made all the more romantic!
Most rooms are situated around a patio with a large pool, but there is also a pretty seating area.
Breakfast was delicious and extensive. There is also a rooftop terrace, but when I was there it was under construction. I am sure normally they serve breakfast there.
Location:
– Bou Inania Madrasa: 2km / 27 min
– Chouara Tanneries: 1.5km / 18 min
– Al Attarine Madrasa: 1.3km / 15 min
– Royal Palace Gates: 2.6km / 37 min

Riad Rcif & Spa in Fes
Riad Rcif & Spa is harder to find. It is located in the medina in a tiny alley. I always needed help to get back there, because it was impossible on my own (GPS navigation doesn’t work in Fes).
This place looks like a museum. The central courtyard where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner is so extensively decorated you don’t know where to look first. This riad is absolutely gorgeous. Intricate woodwork, ceramic-tile mosaics, a fountain, arches, … you will find it all here, even in your room! The only downside is that there is no pool.
The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. I truly felt like an Arabian princess here.
The food is delicious and the breakfast extensive.
Location:
– Bou Inania Madrasa: 1.6km / 24 min
– Chouara Tanneries: 1.2km / 17 min
– Al Attarine Madrasa: 650m / 9 min
– Royal Palace Gates: 3.3km / 46 min

Dar Zambra in Chefchaouen
Dar Zambra is a traditional Moroccan guesthouse, where they offer several rooms with private bathroom and heating. It is located on a hill at the edge of the medina. I had a wonderful view on the city from its rooftop during breakfast. It was also the ideal place to listen to the call to prayer.
The room was rather small, but clean and cozy. There were several seating areas so you don’t need to stay in your room if you want to read a book or work on your computer.
The location of Dar Zambra was perfect to explore the cute blue medina of Chefchaouen.
