It’s almost the end of 2018 so it’s time to reflect! I have to admit I didn’t really expect too much of 2018. It started with the awful news at work that there would be reorganizations with a job loss of 40%! So that wasn’t really something to look forward to. Luckily I had planned some trips already in late 2017 so I could focus on that. Somehow I managed to stay positive even though I went through a rollercoaster of emotions and I also learned a few more things. So I wanted to share with you how I got through 2018 making it a fantastic year and why I think 2019 will be even better! But be warned, this is a post where I am completely me and honest.
20 best things to see and do in Porto
I always wanted to go to Porto. Pictures of the colored façades and the Dom Luís I bridge spanning the Douro river have always drawn my attention. After watching a movie about the life of J.K. Rowling (who used to live in Porto), I only wanted to go even more. So I was super excited to finally arrive in this beautiful city. Porto enchanted me from the first sight.
Two days in Amsterdam: the best places to see and visit
I just returned from two days in Amsterdam and I already feel the urge to book a train ticket to this lovely city again! I love the crooked houses, the canals and bridges, the many trendy restaurants and the people! Last year I stayed for 3 days and explored the city by bike. That way I could reach more areas of Amsterdam that were less touristic. I got a taste of the real Amsterdam and I am hooked ever since! Luckily it only takes 75 minutes by train from Antwerp. So it was easy to return for two days in Amsterdam again to find beautiful photo spots and eat delicious food!
3 days in Copenhagen; best things to see and do
So you booked your trip to Copenhagen and now you are wondering where to go and what to see? Look no further, because I have created the perfect itinerary for three days in Copenhagen, just for you! Copenhagen is Denmark’s capital and home to the Danish royal family. So it is no surprise that the city contains a lot of palaces and castles to see and visit. Copenhagen has a lot more to offer than just its famous Little Mermaid. You can wander around charming colorful streets, admire the views along the canals, eat great food, walk in beautiful parks and do a lot of shopping.
Southwest Iceland Road Trip: Itinerary for one week
I spent one week road tripping Southwest Iceland and it was one of the best travel experiences I ever had. Everywhere I drove the landscape was simply magnificent. I don’t think there is a country with more scenic roads than Iceland. One moment you’re driving through a lava field on your way to a waterfall, the other you’re driving along snow capped volcanoes and glaciers. With only 300 000 inhabitants, you’re never stuck in traffic. It’s a true pleasure to drive the Icelandic roads, even the bumpy dirt roads leading to gorgeous hidden gems on this fantastic island! This is my detailed one week Southwest Iceland road trip adventure!
