I found out that the style in which I decorate my place is called Bohemian by discovering the book “The New Bohemians” by Justina Blakeney. It’s a great book filled with beautiful photos, DIY projects and most of all: inspiration! I didn’t know there were so many different kinds of Bohemian interiors! Even though Bohemian interiors are often very “busy”, I try to keep it modest.
If you love traveling you’ll probably love this interior style as well. Here are a few items of my interior that create a Bohemian vibe.
A globe
Because you need to be able to stare at it and dream of far away places or choose your next destination!
Coffee table books
Books create a cosy homely feel and books with a lot of pictures are always great to look through.
Travel souvenirs
Every souvenir has its own story/memory and makes me smile every time I look at it.
Mosaics
Mosaics are very present in Arab and Asian interiors. I already have 3 different mosaic lamps. I totally adore them and I’m sure that when I ever encounter a souvenir store that sells them, I’ll buy some more. I also like the Moroccan brass/copper lights, but I haven’t bought one yet (only a candle holder). I can’t wait to go to Marakkesh one day and buy lamps and so much more! I also love my mosaic bowl which has a special green/blue color with a gold shine.
Side tables
Side tables are small parts of your interior but can make great statements and change the room intirely. Choose them wisely and create the vibe you want.
Plants
Plants give life and an outdoor feeling to a room. I love my Golden Cane Palm!
Cushions
I’m a cushion addict. In winter I loved the fluffy ones, but now I’m completely into the embroidered cushions in Moroccan/Asian style.
Pictures/Posters
This is something I need to work on. I still need to choose pictures to enlarge and hang them on my walls as if they’re windows to another world.
Candle holders
Curly, mosaic, brass, copper,… candleholders. They’re not only pretty but they create a very nice atmosphere at night!
Rugs
Another item I still need to buy but I haven’t found one that matches my style yet. I love a nice rug with beautiful colors.
