The Mercat de la Boqueria in Barcelona is the largest fresh market of Spain. You can enter it from the Rambla, Barcelona’s most famous street. It offers a great variety of food and is visited by many (many many) tourists. What I love most about this market are the colours. All these fresh fruits and vegetables look so good and have such beautiful bright colours! They just scream to be eaten!
Besides fruit and vegetables you’ll also find fresh juices, fish, cheese, meat, sweets and pastries. It’s the ideal place to grab a snack, have lunch or take colourful photos. If you want to escape the big crowds I advise to go there early in the morning.
Here are some photos of the Mercat de la Boqueria that I took during my trip back in 2010!
