The Rocha Brava Village Resort is the ideal hotel if you’re looking for a nice stay at the Algarve on a budget. Its location is near the prettiest beaches of the Algarve. The rooms, which are actually apartments, are super clean and cosy and there are a lot of great facilities.

Checking in at the Rocha Brava Village Resort
Welcome
I’m going to start with the less positive side of the hotel. The staff at the reception wasn’t really friendly. They were rather reserved and every time I asked for information, they were rather slow and not very keen to help. I always got what I asked for, but it seemed as if it always took a lot of effort. I also hate late check in times (3.30pm). So I had to freshen up and change clothes at the hotel’s public bathroom and reorganize my bags at the lobby so I could start my day (I don’t want to wait for hours until I can finally get into my room).
Room
All rooms at the Rocha Brava Village Resort are small apartments with a living room, bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and a terrace. I felt at home immediately with all the necessities at my disposal. There are also a few villas with their own pool to rent. Even though the hotel is a bit dated, the apartment was clean and its interior charming. This is one of the biggest “rooms” I ever stayed at and one of the cheapest ever, so no complaints here!
Facilities
As the name states, this resort is actually a small village consisting of hundreds of small houses with the exact same look. Each house contains two apartments. 3 swimming pools are waiting for you to dive in and at the entrance there’s a mini market where you can find all the necessities to cook your own meal or to prepare your picnic. There’s also a beauty center, a snack bar and a very good restaurant where you can eat delicious local dishes. The hotel organizes transfers to the beach or the center of Carvoeiro.
Location
I chose the Rocha Brava Village Resort because it is located between Carvoeiro and Benagil. It’s outside the city center of Carvoeiro so it’s a very silent and relaxed environment. I rented a bike to be able to move faster to the beaches. From the hotel you can walk to the Farol de Alfanzina (lighthouse) to enjoy the sunset. The hiking trail that takes you along the coast to Praia Benagil and the most beautiful one; Praia da Marinha, also passes here.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Rocha Brava Village Resort and I definitely recommend it for a trip to the Algarve!
I payed 340€ for a 5 night stay at the end of September. (170€ per person)
