I often catch myself being hasty or stressed about nothing. Then I tell myself to step on the brake and stop, to look around and take in the moment. Even on vacation it can happen before I know it. And then I realize it’s too late, the moment has passed. So I try to be very conscientious about the present. Live in the moment and take my time to enjoy it.
When you find a beautiful spot, just sit down and enjoy the view. Whether it’s on top of a mountain or on a bench in a city, sit or stand there as long as you want to. Why would you keep walking, thinking “that was a nice place!” if you can actually stop and feel the place. Discover details, smell the air, feel the grass, the water, the wind, hear the surrounding sounds, enjoy the view, watch the landscape change color when the sun (dis)appears, observe the people or animals living there and take your time to take a beautiful picture of it. A photo can never capture these things, but you will remember them when you see the picture again, because you took the time to save these impressions in your mind. Every picture taken will have more value and become more personal to you. But don’t make the mistake to watch the scene through your lens only.
Enjoy the moment, the view, you won’t regret it.
