Organizing & packing my hand luggage is more challenging than packing my suitcase. The weight is limited to 10 kilos (sometimes even less) and camera equipment can weigh a lot. I don’t like big hand luggage bags (or suitcases) so I try to stuff as many as possible in a bigger “handbag”. This is what I usually pack in my cabbin baggage.
I always take 2 bags; my handbag and my carry on bag.
What I take in my handbag
– A wallet with my passport/identity card, driver’s license, some money and my credit cards
– E-ticket information/boarding pass & insurance information
– Booking confirmation of the hotel(s)
– A map of the destination so I don’t get lost after arrival (in case of taking the public transport to get to my hotel or so I can show the taxi driver where the hotel is located in case he doesn’t know)
– Phone (Samsung S4)
– Pocket camera (Sony DSC HX50)
– Selfie stick
– Gum and anti pressure earplugs
– Lip balm to prevent dry chapped lips (I’m a big fan of Maybelline’s Baby Lips)
– Pen & notebook
– Empty plastic bag
– Dry & wet tissues
What I pack in my carry on bag
– Big camera (Sony DSC HX200V or Canon 550D)
– International power plug, compact powerstrip
– Chargers of all the devices (Phone, laptop, cameras)
– iPod Touch & ear plugs
– (Mini) laptop
– Spare SD memory cards & batteries
– Book or magazine
– Travelguide
– Jewelry (I don’t have expensive jewelry, but most of them have emotional value. That’s why I like to keep them close to me)
– Sunglasses (Pictured: CHANEL Freshwater Cultured Pearl Butterfly Sunglasses 6040 H Black)
– Spare underwear
– Scarf (in case I get cold at the airport or on board, most of the time the airconditioning is too much)
